====== Install Docker Host ======

First, make sure that all of the latest patches are installed.

<code bash>
sudo apt update
sudo apt dist-upgrade
sudo reboot
</code>

Add Docker's GPG key that they use to sign the packages and repository:<code bash>
wget -qO - https://download.docker.com/linux/ubuntu/gpg | sudo apt-key add -

cat > /tmp/docker.list << EOF
deb [arch=amd64] https://download.docker.com/linux/ubuntu $(lsb_release -cs) stable
EOF

sudo mv /tmp/docker.list /etc/apt/sources.list.d/

sudo apt update

Install Docker<code bash>
sudo apt install docker-ce -y
</code>

Verify Docker installed correctly:<code bash>
sudo docker run hello-world
</code>

Use the below command to add additional users to the docker group but at a minimum, you should configure your user account to be able to execute docker commands:<code bash>
sudo usermod -aG docker $USER
</code>

Configure Docker to start on boot:<code bash>
sudo systemctl enable docker
</code>
